Кровавое обострение многолетнего конфликта на Ближнем Востоке вновь привлекло широкое внимание к политической партии ХАМАС ("Исламское движение сопротивления"), возглавляющей палестинскую администрацию в Cекторе Газа
Потому что именно эта организация развернула боевые действия против израильского правительства.
Партия, которая была создана шейхом Ахмедом Ясином в 1987 году, не признает государство Израиль и выступает за создание единого палестинского арабского государства на всей территории, которую занимала подмандатная Палестина до образования Израиля в 1948 году.
При этом, помимо легального политического крыла, ХАМАС также располагает военизированной организацией «Бригады Изз ад-Дина аль-Кассама», численность которой, по данным экспертов, составляет 10–12 тысяч человек.
Именно они составили ядро вооруженных отрядов, которые атаковали израильские блокпосты и поселения, расположенные по периметру Сектора Газа утром 7 октября, что нанесло Израилю беспрецедентный военный ущерб.

For over a century, Palestinians have opposed the ongoing Zionist settler colonial project in Palestine and Israel’s apartheid regime. Since 1948, Palestinians have endured an ongoing Nakba (catastrophe) of forced displacement, refugeehood, and exile; the denial of their right to return to Palestine; and an ongoing process of domination, foreign occupation, annexation, and settler colonisation. Throughout historic Palestine, Palestinians have been systematically fragmented, dispossessed of their land and property, and arbitrarily deprived of their collective right to self-determination.
While we are encouraged by the growing global recognition of Israeli apartheid, we note that Zionist settler colonialism and its eliminatory logic remain missing from recent analyses and reports on apartheid by Israeli and international human rights organisations. It is this gap, which our report titled “Israeli Apartheid: Tool of Zionist Settler Colonialism” seeks to fill.

Why Israel is a Jewish supremacist state

There is much I can agree with in Yoav Litvin’s article “The Zionist fallacy of Jewish supremacy“. Without a doubt, Zionism is a modern settler colonial movement which emerged in the twilight of the colonial era. It is also true that Zionism was a reaction to the anti-Semitism of the European colonial and racial movements of the late 19th century and it is equally true that Zionism’s reaction to anti-Semitism was to try and take advantage of it and harness it as an engine does with steam power.
It is also true that Zionism perceives Jews as a biological race. Because, what else is the myth of Jewish nationhood other than a racial one? Given that Jews are members of every nation on the Earth and speak most languages, what else but race binds them according to Zionist folklore?
I also agree with Litvin that Zionism mercilessly exploits and uses Judaism or parts of it in order to justify its racist and indeed genocidal practices. On all this and more we agree and yet I cannot concur with the idea that Zionism in the form of the Israeli state is a Jewish supremacist state. This flies in the face of the evidence.

Israel has entered the “annihilation phase of genocide,” over 40 leading state crime scholars, including major public intellectual figures said in a statement this week. Israel’s actions in Gaza and historic actions against the Palestinian people fit both legal and criminological definitions of the crime of genocide.
Citing Article 2 of the 1948 Genocide Convention, signatories to the letter, which includes professors and experts from the UK and US, argued that Israeli policy meets the definition of genocide: “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.”
Citing also senior Israeli politicians and military officials, the statement said that there is explicit intent to commit genocide. President Isaac Herzog was one many mentioned in the list. He declared that there are no innocent civilians in Gaza, denying their basic humanity. Israel’s announcement of a state of “total siege” of Gaza, cutting off water, food, electricity and medical supplies, amounted to a clear statement of intent to commit genocide.

MEMO has been monitoring Israeli newspapers and broadcasters revisiting and questioning the official narrative around the 7 October attack. There is growing evidence of friendly-fire and Israelis killed by the Israeli military, presented in Haaretz and inadvertently broadcast by pro-government and state-backed media in Israel. The Middle East Monitor was set up more than 14 years ago as a press monitoring platform. MEMO Monitoring seeks to continue this mission of observing how the Middle East is reported in newspapers, on TV and on social media.

When Israeli citizens go to the polls on March 23rd, they will be voting on whether to bring followers of Rabbi Meir Kahane into the Knesset as part of a new party, “Religious Zionism.” The sudden political ascent of the Religious Zionism party was orchestrated by Benjamin Netanyahu in exchange for its support for keeping him in power, leading one Ha’aretz commentator to name him a “lobbyist for the Kahanist party.”
While Meir Kahane’s Kach Party was banned from the Knesset in 1988 for incitement to racism – and both Kach and another Kahanist group, Kahane Chai, have long been labeled Foreign Terrorist Organizations by the U.S. – Kahane’s Jewish supremacist agenda has over the years become woven into Israeli mainstream policies. His direct followers in the Religious Zionism party unabashedly promote his “outright fascist agenda” (in the words of +972 Magazine) and are now poised to enter the Knesset.

On 2 November, Palestinians mark the 104th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration—a document that laid the groundwork for Israel’s creation.
On this day, Britain granted the land of Palestine, which it did not own, to the Zionist movement to establish a “national home”.
Amid dwindling support for the Palestinian struggle against the decades-long Israeli occupation, analysts believe that Palestinian chances to establish their own state are slimmer than ever.
On 10 October, Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, cast more doubts on the possibility of the establishment of a Palestinian state, saying it “would highly likely mean a terror state a seven-minute (drive) from my own home, and from just about any place in Israel.”
Following the Balfour Declaration, Arabs and Palestinians have been entangled in the decades-long conflict with Israel which has not officially ended yet, despite moves by some Arab countries to normalise their relations with the latter.

As the United Nations General Assembly determined by a large majority in 1975, “Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination.”
Although that resolution was repealed after the collapse of the Soviet Union, due in part to US and Israeli pressure, it is as true today as ever.

The recent defeat of the UK’s Labour Party amid a relentless campaign to smear its leader, Jeremy Corbyn, as an anti-Semite makes the appearance of historian Gardner Thompson’s Legacy of Empire: Britain, Zionism and the Creation of Israel especially relevant.
Corbyn likely would have become the first British prime minister to renounce the notorious Balfour Declaration of 1917, which gave Britain’s colonial endorsement to the establishment of a Jewish “national home” in Palestine. The baseless charges of anti-Semitism that dogged Corbyn are wholly hypocritical given the links between Zionism, British colonialism and real anti-Semitism.
Legacy of Empire documents how this strange brew of ideologies and bigotry led to the denial of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. Thompson covers the period from the birth of Zionism in 1897 to the establishment of Israel in 1948, but the author maintains that “Israel’s origins are properly sought in the period of the First World War” (1914-1918).

Law enforcement officers found Iana Kasian's lifeless body on 26 May 2016 in an apartment that the couple had recently shared in West Hollywood, California. They found Kasian's body lying on the bed in the master bedroom, with Blake at her side. Prosecutors said there were indications that he had been lying next to her body, which had been cleaned, for some time before police arrived.[13] Kasian was found mutilated, drained of blood and lying in their bed. The discovery was made following a barricade stand-off between Leibel and police officers. Leibel was subsequently charged with murder, torture, mayhem and aggravated mayhem, to which he pleaded not guilty. Their infant daughter was in the care of Kasian's mother who was visiting from Ukraine and staying in a nearby apartment.
