Some Russian politicians talk about the USSR 2.0, state TV channels do not cease to frighten with the "genocide of Russian-speaking population" (forgetting to remind you that the genocide already goes on for years in Russia [translator's note: figuratively referring to White genocide & population replacement]), and pro-Kremlin nationalists even fantasize on the theme of the so-called "Russian Spring".
Despite the service of the first persons of Novorossiya in the repressive organs of the Russian Federation [FSB], despite the appointment of Communists in the chief political offices, despite numerous statements [of their] pro-Putin leaders' commitment to internationalism (remember the verbatim quote from Gubarev about "red orthodox project," recall Pushilin's public denial of the presence of any nationalism among the separatists, recall statements from commanders Girkin and Bezler about the commitment to heritage of the Red Army and willingness of "fight the Nazis," remember finally all that "Soviet-dedyvoevatelskaya" [translator's note: "dedyvoevatelskaya" - from "our grandfathers have fought" - derisive reference to cliches of Cult of Soviet Victory like "our grandfathers fought the nazis"] rhetoric, which permeates every frame of footage from the separatist camp), despite all this - pro-Kremlin nationalists continue the rituals over the expiring body of Novorossiyan Frankenstein, hoping to convince themselves that the red - it is white.
To such speculation contributes the fact that all information about the Novorossiya passes through bloggers who distort it for their own purposes, by wishful thinking. To once and for all reveal the true political aspirations and ideological principles of Novorossiya we turn to the source - namely, the statement of the Public Council of Novorossiya.
Public Council of Novorossiya was formed 24 and 25 May 2014 by representatives of Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson and Sumy regions of South-East of Ukraine, as well as the so-called Donetsk People's Republic and Lugansk People's Republic.
Public Council is one of the principal organs of the joint political coordination between DPR and LPR, and aims to form a new state entity - Novorossiya. Public Council is developing and agreeing on common principles of creating Novorossiya, definition of its values and objectives. During the congress of the public council of Novorossiya its members made a joint statement later published by the newspaper "Zavtra." (Stalinism and patriotism").
This statement is worth a careful read because it once and for all answers the question - what is Novorossiya and why Russian nationalists must destroy it. So:
"We see Novorossiya as the place where will come to life the tradition of fraternal community of people, which will form a single civilization, overcoming ethnic, confessional and social limitations [translators note: another possible translation -- "separations"]. Sovereignty and identity of Russian world has always been based on the integration and consolidation of different traditions, cultures and peoples.
Our values are the mutual enrichment of cultures and people, internationalism and anti-fascism, justice and solidarity. We are committed to the creation of a common future for all citizens, a future, from which none of our fellow citizens can not be excluded because of its native language, national origin or religious beliefs.
Novorossiya we see a place where freedom of conscience will be connected with respect for all religions.
We stand for the transformation of society on a democratic basis, to overcome the dominance of the oligarchy and true equality for all members of society, for equality, not only proclaimed the official documents, but guaranteed by real state practice, for equal access of all to culture and science, for the right to education in their native language.
We will fight for a society where citizens are provided with decent working conditions and employment support, for free accessible and quality education and health care, pensions and for decent living conditions. Our priority is to ensure the welfare and social rights of every family, socially oriented housing policy.
We see the future Novorossiya democratic, based on a real government, citizens' access to decision-making. Country, where different ideologies will have the right to exist - except Nazism and racism.
We see the future Novorossiya place where the modern economy based on industrial upgrading, development of science and rational use of the creative potential of the people.
We are confident that our struggle and our commitment to a better future are the continuation of a great common history of Russia, Ukraine, the Soviet Union and modern Eurasian, the history that our peoples are creating today joining our forces.
Novorossiya is to become an open project for the implementation of the proclaimed values and principles, reserving a right to declare full independence.
Novorossiya is to become an arena for the realization of ideas, hopes and aspirations of all the people, sincerely worried about the fate of the Motherland, aspiring to make her happy and prosperous."

Personally, I believe the Soviet decision about Crimea must have had pragmatic reasons too and many Russians even on "Novorossiya" side understand this as well. That "illegal"decision is more like just propaganda for simpleton minds designed to rile people up. Crimea was very economically attached to South-East Ukraine (to which it is also geographically connected) in Soviet times and in post-Soviet times. A lot of Ukrainian investment (both by the modern Ukraine and the Ukrainian SSR within the USSR) was made into Crimea, for decades, everything from building power transmission lines to water lines and other infrastructure shared between this peninsula and the Ukrainian south-east.
Nevertheless, for me, personally, for many supporters of Ukraine and for many Ukrainians themselves, from what I've seen, Crimea isn't the main thing. They understand that, in a way, it never was truly "Ukrainian". But one of the problems with Crimea is that, in a way, it may predetermine further conflict. That's exactly what many supporters of "Novorossiya" were/are saying: "we took Crimea, now we must take east-south of Ukraine" (at least the coastline), because of the need to connect Crimea by land and to capture the key infrastructure (electricity, water) that Crimea is dependent on. So, Crimea breaks the faith and all the previous agreements (and there were several) putting the entire border in question.
There is Ukraine (as a state) and Ukrainian nationalists (volunteer battalions). Ukraine can, as a state (and not a nationalist-controlled one) be compared to "Novorossiya"/people's republics LPR and DPR/aka ORDiLO, or to Russia.
Ukrainian nationalists, on the other hand, can be compared with nationalists in "Novorossiya" (a group that, since Rusich departure and some other departures, have dwindled, it appears, to almost nothing). If Rusich itself has said that this "Novorossiya" is a piece of dung and fled it (or it's possible they would've ended like the infamous "Batman"), then I don't know what else needs to be discussed about the difference between Ukraine and "Novorossiya". Everything else notwithstanding, this "Novorossiya" and the ideas it's built upon (Soviet crap, antifascism and other leftist junk) deserve utter defeat, discreditation and death.

Ukraine separatists celebrate Soviet holiday in Donetsk

Israeli citizens are fighting on the terrorist side of the Ukrainian conflict.
One of those foreign fighters is Ina Levitan, a 37-year-old Tel Aviv resident of Azerbaijani origin, who has been fighting on the side of Ukrainian separatists on the front lines near the rebel- held city of Luhansk since late 2014 in order to fight who she calls fascists and neo-Nazis. While born in Baku, she grew up in Israel and never thought that she would return to the Soviet Union, but when an acquaintance disappeared in eastern Ukraine last September she began investigating the conflict, she told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.
After a few days she was able to track down her friend’s whereabouts but continued researching the conflict, and “after a month and a half I decided to go to Novorossia,” she said, using the Russian imperial term for the territories on the north coast of the Black Sea encompassing what is now eastern Ukraine.
She said that she was motivated to join the separatists after learning of “crimes carried out against the civilian population.”
In an open letter on the website of the Israeli Communist Party, Levitan said the goal of her brigade is not to enter into conflict with Ukraine or its citizens, but rather to “fight against the fascist, pro-Nazi and oligarchs” and help the people.
She railed against what she called “pro-Nazi activists” using Nazi salutes and symbols who are “torturing and murdering civilians and soldiers of the army of Ukraine who do not share their views.”
“I myself saw a man who returned from captivity in the hands of neo-Nazis.
They cut limbs and tattooed his body with swastikas. We are fighting against these atrocities that occur repeatedly and harm civilians,” she wrote, accusing the West of ignoring war crimes.
“As an Israeli, I personally, viscerally hate fascists,” she asserted.
While many of her fellow fighters are Russians and Ukrainians, there are also Spaniards, Serbians, Italians and Israelis.
Speaking with the Russian media late last year, Donetsk People’s Republic foreign minister Alexander Kofman, who is Jewish, asserted that there are dozens of former IDF soldiers fighting in Donetsk.
“I would say [they are] people who are looking for the show, let it be in Ukraine or Sudan, it’s no difference,” he mused.
“For both sides, the Jewish factor was very important in the beginning of the war. It’s less important now but then it was very important to show to both sides that they have the Jews fighting for them [and] the Israelis, and that the Jewish community abroad are their supporters… I think that this is much more PR as usual and there’s nothing to talk about.”
Levitan, however, disagreed, telling the Post that she saw the conflict as a “huge political game” in which oligarchs are filling their pockets at the expense of the average citizen.
The Western media is distorting the nature of the rebellion in Ukraine, just as it distorts Israel’s fight against Palestinian terrorism, she said. “Every Israeli can easily understand that a similar situation occurs in the area of Novorossia.”
She has no regrets because she is able to fight for her principles, she continued, adding that being an Israeli and commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day taught her the importance of standing up to Nazis.
